Job description

My client is an award winning, PLC house builder with a strong pipeline of work. Due to continued success, they are now looking to strengthen their design team with an Architectural Technician.

 

As an Architectural Technician, you will be responsible for the Architectural design from post planning through to on site completion, taking a hands on role for leading the design of multiple projects at one time. You will work with a dynamic, hardworking and sociable team of individuals so you will need to be a team player and be willing to assist other colleagues as and when required.

 

As you will be producing the technical drawings for projects, you need to be adverse in using AutoCAD and knowledge of using Revit would also be beneficial but not essential. You will attend and lead design meetings weekly to ensure that the production of technical information is progressing correctly and you will need to be confident in liaising with subcontractors to ensure that any subcontract drawings are reviewed accurately.

 

As Architectural Technician you will also need to be familiar with the content of the planning approved packages to include section 106 obligations, drawings, statements and schedules regarding the features of the of existing sites. You MUST also be up to date on current UK Building Regulations and NHBC Standards.

 

You will ideally be working for a house builder or residential developer however candidates working on residential projects for architectural practices will also be considered giving you the perfect opportunity to move in to a client side role.

Key Requirements:

 

  • Experience of working on residential developments, ideally with a developer, house builder or main contractor although candidates in Architectural practice will also be considered.
  • Degree qualified in Architecture although other relevant backgrounds will be considered.
  • Must have AutoCAD knowledge and experience. Revit is also beneficial but NOT essential.
  • You must have a strong attention for detail, able to work independently and a team player on larger projects.
  • Familiarity of current UK building regulations and NHBC standards.
  • Have a UK Driving License as occasional site visits will be required.
