Job description

I am currently working with one of the UK's leading national house builders. They are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor that can show a willingness to succeed, is very motivated and wants to be challenged. Seeking a driven a determined individual that wants to be part of a fantastic team, striving to achieve excellence inspire and lead others.

 This opportunity will allow you to work on and help deliver 3-4 projects, including site development and the attainment of targets by conducting commercial cost appraisals and viability/feasibility analysis, working with sub-contractors, materials and goods, understanding how to prepare and monitor site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of tender allowances
  • The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting and agreement of interim valuations in accordance with those dates.
  • Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions  
  • Preparation of cost to complete
  • Financial Reporting
  • Cash management and maximisation
  • Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
  • Provision of standard reports
  • Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a house builder or main contractor.
  • You will have sound experience of working within the same, or similar role previous. 
  • You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).
