Job description

We are currently working with one of the UK's leading national house builders, who are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor that shares its aims to be the number one house builder on the South Coast. Seeking a driven a determined individual that wants to be part of a fantastic team, striving to achieve excellence inspire and lead others.

 This opportunity will allow you to work on and help deliver 3-4 projects, including site development and the attainment of targets by conducting commercial cost appraisals and viability/feasibility analysis, working with sub-contractors, materials and goods, understanding how to prepare and monitor site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of tender allowances
  • The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting and agreement of interim valuations in accordance with those dates.
  • Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions  
  • Preparation of cost to complete
  • Financial Reporting
  • Cash management and maximisation
  • Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
  • Provision of standard reports
  • Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a house builder or main contractor.
  • You will have sound experience of working within the same, or similar role previous. 
  • You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).
