Job description

I’m working with a privately owned, entrepreneurial house builder who are looking to strengthen their technical team with a Development Manager.


I’m working with a leading entrepreneurial house builder who are going through a sustained period of growth. Due to this continued success, a large land bank and plenty of projects, they have a new opening for an experienced Development Manager to join their close team of individuals.


As Development Manager you will overarch the development cycle and be involved in projects from cradle to grave. It is important that as a Development Manager you have experience in the whole lifecycle from assisting the land team in acquisitions through planning, design, delivery, completion and after sales as each project will be at different stages and you will need to make sure these are fully project managed acting as the client.


You will be degree qualified and be able to prove that you can take projects from the early stages through to completion. You may be from an architectural, engineering or other relevant background and be an individual who is calm under pressure, able to problem solve and juggle numerous tasks at any one time to make sure the project is on time and to budget. You will also need to be someone who isn’t afraid to stand up and be heard.


Reporting in to the Technical Director and on occasions the Managing Director, you will be working on a variety of bespoke residential developments which range from 15 to 60 units in size. The projects will include low rise RC frame and traditional housing and as each project is different from the last and built to compliment the surrounding areas, it will continuously keep you challenged and interested.


In return you will be given ongoing support and training and there will be opportunities for career progression should you wish to take it.  You will be paid a competitive salary and package which includes a discretionary bonus.


Key Requirements:


  • Degree qualified in Architecture, Engineering or other relevant qualification.
  • Experienced in the cradle to grave development cycle on residential based projects.
  • Acting as the client you will be involved in assisting the land team in land acquisition, planning, design, technical, delivery, completion and sales.
  • Calm under pressure, a problem solver and able to juggle numerous projects at any one time.
  • Career driven, not afraid to stand your ground and able to make sure projects are running on time and within budget.
