Job description

We are working with a privately owned luxury house builder in North London, who are looking to recruit a proven Senior Surveyor to help deliver small to medium sized prime residential projects in North London. Based near Watford they deliver 2-3 luxury projects a year within the area and are now looking to build on recent success and expand their operations. With a busy pipeline of work coming through they will be delivering more high specification housing schemes and are keen to speak to candidates from a similar new build background, projects are one off new builds and small low to medium rise developments.

 This opportunity will allow you to help manage a range of fantastic projects whilst leading and undertaking a substantial wealth of responsibilities and reporting directly to the company directors. You will be managing site development and the attainment of targets by conducting commercial cost appraisals and viability/feasibility analysis, managing sub-contractors, materials and goods, preparing and monitoring site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

Salary and package on offer is £70,000 - £80,000 with the rare opportunity to work for a privately owned prime house builder that prides itself on the superior quality of their build.

          Key Responsibilities:

  • The identification & procurement of suitable sub-contractors.
  • The negotiation & letting of subcontracts within required timescales.
  • Providing the cost-data feedback to Divisional Estimating Department.
  • Administration & management of the financial aspects of the development.
  • Reviewing and forecasting the latest cost estimates and reporting
  • The relationships with external employers such as Housing Associations undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment within Company workplaces and applying the Company’s Health & Safety Policy for their own, their colleagues, third parties and the public’s benefit.


    Experience and Qualifications:

  • You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a house builder or main contractor.
  • You will have sound experience of working within the same, or similar role previous. 
  • You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership
