Job description

We are working with an award winning, leading PLC house builder who are going through a sustained period of growth. Due to several recent planning applications being granted as well as a healthy land bank for future projects behind them, they are now looking for an additional Technical Coordinator to join the team of dynamic individuals they already have.

As Technical Coordinator, you will be involved in a variety of design led, residential developments which will vary in size from 50 units up to 200 in size. The projects will predominantly be low rise traditional housing across the home counties in locations like Surrey, Sussex and Berkshire however they may be the occasional RC frame build so whilst RC frame experience is not essential, it would be a bonus.

Reporting in to the Senior Technical Manager and on occasions the Technical Director, you will participate in the management and coordinator of external consultants such as Architects and Engineers through all stages of planning to onsite delivery and completion. You will ensure all disciplines are joined up and in sync with one another whilst checking layout drawings, suppliers and manufacturers details and obtaining necessary Building Regulation Technical Approvals.

You will ideally be degree qualified and will have experience working with an established residential developer or house builder although Architectural Technicians with relevant residential experience will also be considered as training can be giving. You will have detailed knowledge of building regulations and a thorough understanding of technical drawings. AutoCAD knowledge is highly desirable and full competency of working drawings is essential.

The role itself will be office based however there will be regular travel needed to sites as and when required so you must have a driving license and be willing to travel. In return, there will be ongoing training, strong career progression for successful and hungry employees and a friendly work environment without the internal politics you find at some companies.

Key requirements:

  • Ideally degree qualified (however relevant on-site experience in a similar position will also be considered).
  • Experience of working as a Technical Coordinator for another house builder or developer (although Architectural Technicians with relevant residential experience will also be considered).
  • A detailed knowledge of building regulations and a thorough understanding of technical detailing.
  • AutoCAD experience is highly desirable and a thorough competency of working drawing requirements.
  • Hold a driving license as regular travel will be required.
  • Calm under pressure, career driven and someone who wants progression.
