Job description

I’m working with an exciting and dynamic house builder in Essex who have a strong pipeline of work behind them. Due to continued success, a new position has opened for a Technical Manager to join their close-knit team of individuals.

 

As Technical Manager you will be involved in a variety of low rise traditional housing as well as RC frame structures so it is important you have worked on projects like this in the past. You will be responsible for overseeing up to 3 projects at any one time across the Essex areas and will work closely with the planning and design teams on future projects coming through the pipeline giving you good experience of the cradle to grave process.

 

You will be based in the office but will need to make site visits, as and when required and you will be given the tools to do so effectively. As the Technical Manager you will report in to the Technical Director of the business and you will be overseeing more junior members of staff, as well as liaising with other external consultants such as Architects, Engineers and Sub Contractors etc.

 

You must be calm under pressure, able to make decisions quickly and confidently and have a proven track record of successfully delivering residential. You must be able to challenge decisions, raise the right questions and can’t be someone who sits in the background agreeing with everything which comes your way.

 

In return, you will be paid a competitive basic salary and package including car or car allowance and bonus. The projects will be interesting, ever challenging and will all be different from the last.

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Degree qualified in Architecture, Civil Engineering or other relevant related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Technical Manager, overseeing your own residential projects (overseeing more junior members of staff is also of benefit).
  • Experienced working on traditional low rise housing as well as RC frame projects.
  • Confident, not afraid to speak up and make decisions quickly as and when needed.
  • Overseeing small to medium residential projects in size, ideally working for a house builder or developer.
