A record year for tdm and property professionals
Still recovering from the fallout of Brexit and the uncertainty of Covid, the property and housebuilding industry has not had an easier year in 2022. External factors have caused ripples within the industry, and monumental events such as Britain’s response to the Ukraine-Russia war have impacted our daily lives. In the final quarter of 2022, we welcomed our third Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, saw the return of Michael Gove as Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities, and in wider news mourned the death of Queen Elizabeth 2nd. If that wasn’t enough, budget announcements and reversals led to widespread jitters across the UK’s economy resulting in knock-on effects within the housing industry (see more in our blogs above).
But what has all of that meant for property professionals in 2022?
Well, in the midst of such monumental change the wheels of the property and housebuilding industry have kept steadily in motion. In fact, we have been proud to place close to 300 candidates into roles across the industry (and country) this year and helped our clients build award-winning teams.
We’ve also helped our clients and candidates by being one of the first to produce an industry-standard salary guide, including a specialist Commercial Real Estate version. We’ve worked with universities and charities to help our clients create more inclusive hiring processes and diverse workplaces as well as work with Wellbeing and Mental Health Ambassadors, such as former Great British Olympian Jack Green to establish better workplace wellbeing benefits.
On a personal note, we’re proud to have promoted several members of our team – in fact, the majority of our current senior team started with us at the beginning of their own recruitment journeys! And, we are continuing to work on how we can lead the change in running a successful, fully remote business. We’re also proud to have helped raise over £7000 this year which we have donated to charities such as those we support through our hire purpose and to individuals and team members who are personally doing great things to provide awareness to causes close to their heart. Despite the challenges we have all faced this year, we have managed to find the silver linings!
So we’d like to end this by saying a massive thank you to you for choosing to work with us or for simply being interested enough to read our blogs – all of it counts! We look forward to making new records in 2023.
