Job description
We are currently recruiting for a large PLC housebuilder in the Northamptonshire area. They are looking to add to the existing team in the form of a Architectural Technician. This person will sit directly below the Senior Architectural Technician, who reports in to the Technical Director

You will be responsible for managing the consultants already within the team and to bring together the design packages for the developments you will be working on. This includes the house type drawings, obtaining third party design from stair, truss & joist manufacturers.

Also, you will be obtaining structural checks from the engineers and producing all of the documentation to go with the checks carried out including converyance plans and amending site layouts on CAD.

Discharging planning conditions relating to the site along with providing information to the NHBC in order to clear building control for CML. Managing queries and problems from site with the site team. Must be team player.
Specifically, as a Architectural Technician This position is ideal for someone who wants to progress within a well established business. You would ideally come from an architectural background looking to move into a role of this nature.

You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of the planning applications, prepare all of the viabilities, secure the planning and building regulations at pre and concept stage of the scheme.

The Role:
- Overview development proposals and appraise site information to formulate technical reports
-  Instruct and coordinate necessary site investigations
-  Ensure compliance with CDM procedures
-  Overview planning applications and comment where appropriate from a technical perspective
-  Assist in the appointment of external consultants
-  Ensure compliance with CDM procedures
-  Appoint and manage an external design team and the lead the design process
-  Ensure the preparation of all drawings, details and specifications necessary for start on site
-  Have a good knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC standards, adoption processes and the technical process
-  Ensure compliance with CDM procedures
-  Provide technical support to the site based construction team
-  Ensure all planning and NHBC conditions are discharged in a timely manner
-  Attend regular site based progressed meetings
-  Ensure compliance with CDM procedures
-  Ensure the prompt distribution of all technical information to the other business disciplines
-  Attend pre start, specification and any other relevant meeting as required under the Company’s operating framework.
-  Liaison with sales department in procurement of accurate sales presentation drawings.
-  Any other duties as required by the Technical Director/Technical Manager
