Job description

I am currently working with an award winning privately owned house builder near Sevenoaks that prides themselves on being a market leader in the counties high end residential market. Their exceptional standards and expert craftsmanship has built a reputation for high specification house building in the South East.

 Due to continued success the business is now looking to expand and recruit an ambitious Assistant/Intermediate Surveyor that is looking to be part of a growing construction team that specialises in creating high specification new homes within the region. To be considered for this role it would be advantageous if you have a background in house building for a leading name in the industry.  The role is well suited for an assistant with 2/3 years experience ready for a new challenge. Salary/Package £40,000 - £50,000.

 Key Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor:

  • The identification & procurement of suitable sub-contractors.
  • The negotiation & letting of subcontracts within required timescales.
  • Providing the cost-data feedback to Divisional Estimating Department.
  • Administration & management of the financial aspects of the development.
  • Reviewing and forecasting the latest cost estimates and reporting
  • The relationships with external employers such as Housing Associations undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties, etc.
  •   Prepares and submits notices and applications for Client / Agent for Extension of Time claims

Desirable criteria:

  • Passionate about construction and house building.
  • Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of methods of measurement, standard forms of contract and reporting procedures, preparation of contractual claims.
  • Qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
