Job description

I am currently recruiting for one of the largest developers in London, with plenty of work in the pipeline and large sites past planning that offer longevity. This role has around 3 years of work on site building new luxury apartments, with unit sales post £1.5m. The developer is looking to add an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their team, the vibrant Assistant will be given all the training and development needed to bridge the gap between Assistant to Project Quantity Surveyor. 


The purpose of this job is to maximise the gross margin on the company’s building contracts by supporting the Project Surveyor in obtaining best prices for sub-contracts, accurately assessing costs during the delivery of the contract, and justifying and claiming all contractual payments due to the company by the client. 


The vacancy would suit a semi-qualified/qualified Assistant Surveyor with at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role. The role is a mixture of office and site placement, with great working conditions and package on offer. 
Key responsibilities include:
•        Prepare and dispatch tender packages to sub-contractors (with clerical support)
•        Set up job files and all necessary records (with clerical support, and in conjunction with Accounts Department)
•        Collate sub-contractor tenders and, in consultation with the Contracts Manager, award sub-contracts
•        Check and approve sub-contractors claim for payment (in conjunction with the Senior Project Surveyor)
•        Liaise with sub-contractors to resolve queries
•        Assess and cost variations to contract
•        Update and maintain records
•        Assist with contract valuations
•        Assist with monthly cost/value reconciliations
•        Submit and agree final accounts (in conjunction with the Senior Project Surveyor).
On Offer:
•        £30,000 - £40,000 Depending on experience
