Job description

I am working with a regional house builder in Northampton who is looking to strengthen their offering based on recent and continued success. With 10 years of experience in the industry they are very much a design led company who focus on building high spec units that closely imitate the local community whilst enhancing the area around them.

The role is ideal suited to an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who focuses on delivering a high level of detail to the client. The company manages to deliver consistent quality by building long lasting, personal relationships with their clients and making sure that they build homes that people aspire to live in.

With a very competitive basic salary of £40,000 - £50,000 along side a great bonus scheme and package, this is the perfect environment to grow with through a rewarding career.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings) for Valuations, Variations & Final Accounts as directed by line manager.
  • Monthly stock taking for external valuations.
  • Prepare and agree daywork sheets.
  • Measurement and valuation of subcontractors work for payment and Final Account purposes.
  • Assisting QS to ensure that payments to sub-contractors are made on time and in accordance with the subcontract agreement
  • Assisting with preparation of external valuations
  • Assisting in preparation of financial reports by taking relevant site measurements and/or measuring from drawings as directed by line manager.
  • Monthly stock taking for internal valuations
  • Assisting in preparation of pre-cost estimates, analysis of Head Office cost prints and divergences between pre-cost estimates and Head Office cost prints.
  • Preparing material reconciliations.
  • Preparing and submitting material delivery sheets

Education & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 GCSE’s A – C, including Maths and English
  • Must have completed at least one year of surveying related studies such as National Certificate or HND or Quantity Surveying degree
