Job description

We are working with a leading national house builder in Peterborough, who are looking to recruit an Assistant/Intermediate Surveyor to help deliver large scale housing projects in the region. Ideally looking to speak to candidates from a similar background, minimum 2 years experience.

 

This opportunity will allow you to help manage a range of fantastic projects whilst leading and undertaking a substantial wealth of responsibilities and reporting directly to the company directors. You will be managing site development and the attainment of targets by conducting commercial cost appraisals and viability/feasibility analysis, managing sub-contractors, materials and goods, preparing and monitoring site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

 

Salary on offer is £35,000 - £50,000 plus package for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of tender allowances
  • The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting and agreement of interim valuations in accordance with those dates.
  • Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions  
  • Subcontract and Design Procurement
  • Subcontract payments, variations and final accounts
  • Submission of Cost Value Reconciliations
  • Preparation of cost to complete
  • Financial Reporting
  • Cash management and maximisation
  • Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
  • Provision of standard reports
  • Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines

Experience and Qualifications:

  • You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a house builder or main contractor.
  • You will be degree, RICS or IOB qualified (or moving towards professional membership).
