I’m working with a reputable PLC house builder with nationwide locations who are going through a sustained period of growth. Due to this growth they are looking to bolster their team with a Civil Engineer.


As a Civil Engineer will be responsible for the day to day civil engineering design of developments within the region in accordance with current working practices and provide a quality and cost-effective service.


The successful candidate will be responsible managing the civil engineering elements of projects from initial briefing through to design and construction up to adoption within the specified timescale. As well as to undertake thorough investigations into the infrastructure requirements of land opportunities and ensure that the results of investigations are communicated effectively to the relevant regional stakeholders.


Reporting into the Engineering Director, you will provide assistance to the engineering department including arranging surveys and checking consultants’ drawings. You will undertake Specific activities regarding infrastructure appraisals, drainage design and highway design. As well as being responsible for close co-ordination with the planning, technical, and site teams.


You will also undertake designs achieving practical and economic solutions working either as part of a team or independently. Establish the most cost effective and timely means of delivering the necessary infrastructure to potential land acquisitions and prepare the necessary reports accordingly.


Key Requirements:


  • Experience of working on residential developments, ideally with a developer, house builder or main contractor although candidates from engineering practices are welcome.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering although other relevant backgrounds will be considered.
  • Must have AutoCAD knowledge and experience. Revit is also beneficial but NOT essential.
  • Familiarity of current UK building regulations and NHBC standards.
  • Have a UK Driving License as occasional site visits will be required.
