Job description

A great opportunity has arisen to join a lead strategic land and investment business as a Development Manager, taking responsibility for the wide variety of tasks required to manage their current and future strategic land schemes.

The types of tasks are included below but the list is not meant to be exhaustive.

Managing Contracted Sites:
• Assisting in the appointment of professional consultants
• Attending design team meetings
• Attending meetings with planning officers at Local Planning Authorities and County Councils
• Attending meetings with various stakeholders (Natural England, Environment Agency, utility companies etc)
• Reviewing and querying technical reports and surveys
• Reviewing and sometimes preparing Local Plan representations
• Attending Local Plan Examination in Public’s (EIP’s)
• Attending and sometimes speaking at local public consultation events including Local Parish meetings
• Reviewing and assisting in the evolution of master-plans and scheme designs
• Assisting in the preparation of development appraisals on different development scenarios
• Assisting in the preparation of S106 agreements with Local Planning Authorities
• Assisting in the preparing of written quarterly landowner update reports (including budget v actual cost reporting)
• Attending landowner meetings.

However, in addition you will be involved in new sites and the disposal of successful sites:

This is a hands on role - my client are looking for a flexible team player who is confident and who has a “can do” attitude, someone who is well organised and efficient.

This role requires a Town-Planner with the following qualifications, experience and knowledge:

RTPI qualified with at least two years’ experience

- Excellent written and presentation skills

- Computer skills (Microsoft Office) to a high standard particularly with Excel: some CAD experience would also be useful but not essential
