£50,000 - £63,000, plus package and bonus (up to 24%)

My client are looking to attract an experienced Estimator or Quantity Surveyor to join their high performing Group commercial team. You will be working from the Group Head Office.

My client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Estimator who evidences strong attention to detail and methodical way of working. Motivation and organisation are key to success within this role. Land appraisal experience is essential for this role.

The Role:

The primary purpose is to produce competitive and innovative tenders, proposing the right costs to the highest quality and accuracy. To be successful at this, you will need to draw on your substantial construction knowledge and consider alternative solutions and value engineering.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Group & Regional teams to provide the highest standard of economical design, as well as engineering solutions
  • To build & maintain excellent working relationships with subcontractors & consultants
  • Covering all cost elements of construction, supporting Estimating Manager
  • In relation to estimating matters, responsible for delivering recommendations, analysis, key cost reports & assessments
  • Delivering key cost information within cost reports, assessments, analysis and recommendations in relation to all cost and estimating matters.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with external consultants and subcontractors

Key requirements:

  • Industry relevant experience in a similar role ideally as Estimator or QS
  • Land appraisal experience essential
  • An in-depth understanding of the commercial aspects and financial implications of the methods and sequences of build
  • Commercially astute
  • A clear communicator
  • A Quantity Surveying or Construction related degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations Excellent planning, project management, organisation and decision-making capability
  • HNC, degree or similar degree related to this role
