We are working with one of the leading privately owned house builders in kent that is looking to expand its senior management team with a head of commercial or commercial director to headup the quantity surveyor, estimating and procurement team.
The business currently does around 130 units per annum but after a large capital injection at start of 2022 they are now ramping up to build 350 units by end of 2025 and need an experienced surveyor or estimator who has a background of working in house building.
The role will initially focus out building out cost base estimations from scratch for new projects you will working closely with the land and development team in assessing and doing viability reports on new sites. This is particularly critical as they are now souring and buying larger plots of land that can produce 100 + units.
Ideally you will be an estimator or surveyor with detailed estimating experience

If I would like to speak with you as I am working with an exceptional privately owned house builder in kent that is currently building 120 units per annum. They have recently taken on a large capital injection from 2 banks and are looking to become the leading house builder in kent.
They are now looking for a senior technical manager to join the business to oversee there 2 largest projects 2 date (110 and 170 units respectively). The role will report directly into the operations director and you will be given a free run at becoming head of technical within the next 12-18 months.
You will be well versed in managing complex house building projects and in particular you will have a demonstrable track record on managing engineering and infrastructure packages on housing sites within multi-phased production.
If you are an ambitious and driven technical manager or technical coordinator from a house building background then this is the role for you.
It is expected that you will manage a small team but as you will be bringing additional skills and experience into the business you will be tasked with upskilling and broadening the knowledge base on technical aspects of large housing projects.
- Degree qualified and ideally in engineering or architecture
- An experienced technical manager at a national plc house builder
- Demonstrable track record of managing and delivering 100+ unit housing projects
- Detailed understanding of managing engineering and infrastructure elements of house building projects
- Experience of managing and building a technical team
- Very ambitious and of director calibre
