Job description.

My client are a medium size consultancy based in Reading with over 10 offices across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a surveyor to join the property and asset management team.


Involved in all aspects of Property Asset Management (PAM), you will work as part of a larger team and lead your own projects. Business development skills are essential as you will be expected to be an ambassador for the company, developing client relationships and delivering the highest level of service. An outward thinking candidate is required to assist with the continued growth of the company


Role and Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain up-to-date property records

• Undertake property inspections and ensure that the client’s repairing and maintenance obligations are observed

• Liaise with Facilities Managers about all day-to-day management issues

• Consider requests for licenses for alterations, changes of use and alienation and report to client with advice

• Prepare and maintain a rent review and lease and license expiry schedule and instruct third parties as appropriate

• In consultation with any Facilities Managers, prepare the annual budgets and proposed cash flow for Client’s approval in accordance with RICS Service Charge Code of Practice

• Assist in the management of existing clients and development of new clients

• Be a key member of a growing Property Asset Management team


The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience – A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the commercial property market, preferably with asset management experience

• Team Working – The ability to work as part of a team and to develop positive professional relationships within own team and across the business

• Relationship building – Responds positively to requests for support from senior colleagues and external contacts

• Technical Knowledge – An understanding of RICS and other legal and compliance requirements as they relate to own role and self

• Problem Solving – Use in-house database and other information sources to deliver current workload and to assist senior colleagues in developing new business.
