Job description

I am currently working with a leading high end niche contractor in North Hampshire that prides themselves on being a market leader in the region working on an enviable selection of prime residential schemes including period properties and listed buildings. Their exceptional standards and expert craftsmanship has built a reputation for quality construction work in the area over the past 50 years.

 Due to continued success the business is now looking to expand and recruit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor that is looking to be part of a growing construction team that specialises in delivering quality refurb and renovation works in and round North Hampshire/Berkshire. To be considered for this role it would be advantageous if you have a background in house building or contracting for a leading name in the industry.  Key Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor:

  • The identification & procurement of suitable sub-contractors.
  • The negotiation & letting of subcontracts within required timescales.
  • Providing the cost-data feedback to Divisional Estimating Department.
  • Administration & management of the financial aspects of the development.
  • Reviewing and forecasting the latest cost estimates and reporting
  • The relationships with external employers such as Housing Associations undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties, etc.
  •   Prepares and submits notices and applications for Client / Agent for Extension of Time   


Desirable criteria:

  • Passionate about construction and house building.
  • Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of methods of measurement, standard forms of contract and reporting procedures, preparation of contractual claims.
  • Qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
