Quantity Surveyor

TDM are working with one of the UK’s highest performing and most reputed consultancies who are looking to strengthen their team with a Quantity Surveyor. Our client is a privately-owned dynamic consultancy. They have offered their clients a vast range of consultancy experience over the Commercial, Educational, Leisure, Residential & Sports sectors to name a few.

You will be part of an evolving and fast-paced office of administrative and professional colleagues and you will be expected to be confident and experienced enough to stand on your own two feet. The correct candidate will possess:

  • Relevant professional Quantity Surveying qualification
  • 2+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying in a Consultancy.
  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on the Consultancy/PQS side
  • Achieved MRICS status or shown commitment to the APC/achieving MRICS
  • Friendly and hard-working character
  • Basic pre and post contract knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Computer literate, with a good understanding of Excel
  • Familiar with current forms of building contracts
  • Knowledgeable use of computerised bill production
  • Team player capable of a flexible approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Enthusiasm, tenacity & self-motivated
  • Ability to meet deadlines & work under pressure

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include but not be limited to:

  • Commercial management of fast track projects
  • Take control of and manage from inception through to completion one or more projects depending on size and complexity.
  • Preparation of initial budgets and cost plans.
  • Calculate all the prime costs on developments within the business, reporting any movements in the costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost reporting on a weekly/ monthly basis. 
  • Prepare estimates of all prime costs Inc. subcontract and materials. 
  • Monitor and explain all cost movements. 
  • Assisting the Senior Surveyor

In return you will be rewarded with a negotiable salary in the region of £35,000 to £45,000 depending on the experience and capability of the candidate.
