Quantity Surveyor/Buyer - Leamington Spa

We are working with a leading regional house builder in Royal Leamington Spa, who are looking to recruit a proven Quantity Surveyor to help deliver medium scale projects across the South Midlands. Based in Leamington Spa they have a strong pipeline of work to deliver with most of their projects being within the area. The role is ideally suited for a Quantity Surveyor with some procurement/buying experience and can assist in this area when needed.

This opportunity will allow you to help manage a range of fantastic projects whilst leading and undertaking a substantial wealth of responsibilities. You will be responsible for site development and all commercial cost appraisals for your projects and viability/feasibility analysis, managing sub-contractors, materials and goods, preparing and monitoring site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Able to demonstrate, previous experience of working for a house builder or relevant organisation
• The negotiation & letting of subcontracts within required timescales.
• Providing the cost-data feedback to Divisional Estimating Department.
• Administration & management of the financial aspects of the development.
• Reviewing and forecasting the latest cost estimates and reporting
• The relationships with external employers such as Housing Associations undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties, etc.
• Assist in maintaining a safe working environment within Company workplaces and applying the Company’s Health & Safety Policy for their own, their colleagues, third parties and the public’s benefit.

  Experience and Qualifications:

• You will have at least 3/5 years experience of working within the Construction industry for a house builder.
• Buying/procurement experience
• You will have sound experience of working within the same, or similar role previous. 
• You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership)
