Job description

We are working with an established design led house builder in Coventry, who are looking to recruit a proven Quantity Surveyor to help deliver prime residential projects in the South Midlands. The successful candidate will have considerable scope to progress to the position of Senior Surveyor in the next 18 months. They are privately owned and deliver one off luxury builds aswell as smaller developments (10-20 units) and are now looking to build on recent success and expand their operations. With a busy pipeline of work coming through they will be delivering more high specification housing schemes in 2018 and are now keen to strengthen.

 This opportunity will allow you to help manage a range of fantastic projects whilst leading and undertaking a substantial wealth of responsibilities and reporting directly to the company directors. You will be managing site development and the attainment of targets by conducting commercial cost appraisals and viability/feasibility analysis, managing sub-contractors, materials and goods, preparing and monitoring site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

Salary and package on offer is £55,000 - £65,000 with the rare opportunity to work for a privately owned prime house builder that prides itself on the superior quality of their build.

          Key Responsibilities:

  • The identification & procurement of suitable sub-contractors.
  • The negotiation & letting of subcontracts within required timescales.
  • Providing the cost-data feedback to Divisional Estimating Department.
  • Administration & management of the financial aspects of the development.
  • Reviewing and forecasting the latest cost estimates and reporting
  • The relationships with external employers such as Housing Associations undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment within Company workplaces and applying the Company’s Health & Safety Policy for their own, their colleagues, third parties and the public’s benefit.


    Experience and Qualifications:

  • You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a house builder or main contractor.
  • You will have sound experience of working within the same, or similar role previous. 
  • You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership
