Quantity Surveyor - Industry Leading Housebuilder


I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an industry leading housebuilder and their team in Orpington, Kent. They construct quality homes ranging from one bedroom apartments to luxury penthouses and prestigious executive houses. They pride themselves on understanding the aspirations of all their buyers, not just in the type of home that suits the majority of the masses, but in terms that satisfies individuals in where they want to live. 


An excellent opportunity to start a career with one of Britain's leading housebuilders. The South East Division is looking for a dedicated Quantity Surveyor who has experience of working within the housebuilding industry and is able to demonstrate their ability to work within a commercial environment. The Quantity Surveyor will have the desire to progress quickly with the guidance of a vastly experienced quantity surveying team thus providing an excellent platform for rapid professional development.The successful person will be ideally degree qualified with a minimum of two years’ prior experience working for a residential developer with an effective and methodical approach to work. In return you will be exposed to all aspects of the role to help you reach your full potential.




  • Contribute to achieving the appropriate commercial result through the provision of accurate financial reporting
  • Manage subcontractor supplier accounts, financially and contractually, in order to secure full entitlements under the contract
  • Understand fully the customer’s needs and ensure effective relationships are built and maintained by consistently high customer service and on site delivery
  • Provide support to the site team on contract requirements
  • Identify, secure and deliver the business forecast in both turnover and margin
  • Place subcontract orders in accordance with the main contract and manage subcontractor accounts ensuring payments are timely and correct and any other commercial issues are resolved
  • Monitor subcontractor against programme
  • Obtain the most competitive quotes by understanding current market trends
  • Assist in the production of cost value reconciliation reports and forecast cash recovery and ensure that both are kept In line with target
  • Ensure applications for payment and invoices are completed and submitted to ensure payment is made to terms and within work in progress (WIP) and cash targets
  • Seek opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs in line with Morgan Sindall Values
  • Operate the systems that are in place to provide the information necessary to manage the contract
