Job description

We are working with a leading contractor, working on a fantastic restoration and refurbishment project in Oxford. Our client are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to help deliver large high end, listed restoration and refurbishment on a country estate in Oxford. This is ideally suited to a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a keen interest in restoration and refurbishment to high end country estates.

This opportunity will allow you to help manage a range of fantastic projects whilst leading and undertaking a substantial wealth of responsibilities. You will be responsible for site development and all commercial cost appraisals for your parts of the project and viability/feasibility analysis, managing sub-contractors, materials and goods, preparing and monitoring site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

With a more than competitive basic salary on offer of £50,000 plus package, this is a great opportunity to better yourself whilst having the clear progression path and support that other house builders will struggle to offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to demonstrate, previous experience of working for a house builder or relevant organisation
  • The negotiation & letting of subcontracts within required timescales.
  • Providing the cost-data feedback to Divisional Estimating Department.
  • Administration & management of the financial aspects of the development.
  • Reviewing and forecasting the latest cost estimates and reporting
  • The relationships with external employers such as Housing Associations undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment within Company workplaces and applying the Company’s Health & Safety Policy for their own, their colleagues, third parties and the public’s benefit.

    Experience and Qualifications:

  • You will have at least 3/4 years experience of working within the Construction industry for a contractor 
  • You will have experience in refurbishment/restoration of high end properties
  • You will have sound experience of working within the same, or similar role previously
  • You will be degree qualified, HNC or similar qualification
