Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join a leading developer as they look to strengthen the cost planning team with a senior appointment.

My client is one of the house hold names in the construction industry and have been instrumental in creating the iconic London skyline. It is a great opportunity to join a leading developer on a high end residential development in Central London.

Duties include:

  • Assist with the Estimating/Cost Planning function of the business.
  • Preparation of Feasibility Studies, GIFA/NIA measurements, Affordability assessment, Identify cost drivers.
  • Preparation of Cost Plans.
  • Abstraction of key information for individual tender packages.
  • Procuring Quantification where necessary from external parties.
  • Undertaking measurement if necessary.
  • Feasibility Studies.
  • Preparing internal report forms and briefing papers for settlement.
  • Advise on the finalisation matters including risk, inflation, qualifications and the like.
  • Forecasting & Analysis.
  • Inflation Modelling (Indices).
  • Prepare commercial pricing strategy document.
  • Check commercial, competence and resources of any Consultants to be Novated.
  • Prepare a list of clarification/qualifications for submission, address key issues.
  • Liaise with the Pre-Construction Team including Planning, Design etc.
  • Establish and maintain commercial relationship with sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Liaise with Clients and consultants (architects, engineers etc.).
  • Provide appropriate handover documentation to the commercial delivery team.
  • Implementation of the company Estimating/Cost Planning systems including TEM.
  • Keep up to date with new construction materials, methodologies, rules, regulations.

It is essential that the successful candidate is able to self-manage as they will be working independently to produce cost plans (liaising with different departments but be solely responsible for producing the cost plan).


  • Degree qualified.
  • Experience within residential development.
  • Estimating experience – but proven experience preparing cost plans from preliminary design information
  • Solid employment history with longevity with previous employers.
  • Ability to operate independently.
