Senior Planner / Planning Manager
Lancaster
Up to £65,000 basic plus package
I’m working with a major national housebuilder who are looking to add a Senior Planner or Planning Manager to their team in Lancaster.
The role
- Take sites from acquisition through to detailed consent and discharge of conditions, running applications end to end
- Site and development appraisals to help the land team decide what’s worth pursuing
- Prepare and submit outline and reserved matters applications, then keep them moving once they’re in
- Brief and manage the consultant team and pull together the supporting technical evidence
- Negotiate on layout, density, mix and s106 where the numbers need protecting
- Front the business with the LPA, elected members, stakeholders and local communities
- Report into the Planning Director, working daily alongside land, technical and commercial
You
- A planner with housebuilder, promoter or consultancy experience behind you
- A proper understanding of residential delivery and what a viable scheme looks like
- MRTPI welcome but not essential
- North West experience useful, though a good planner picks up a new authority quickly enough
- Able to hold your own with a planning officer, take a committee in your stride and keep a site moving when it stalls
