Job description

We are working with a leading main contractor in Cambridge, who are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to help deliver a strong pipeline of work for 2019/2020 and on in to 2021. Based in Cambridge, with project across East Anglia there is a wide range of projects ongoing and in the pipeline, so they will consider surveyors from residential and commercial backgrounds.

The business is a leading name in the industry and can offer you plenty of support and training to progress your career as well as some exciting projects to work on. Ideally you will come from a similar main contracting background or good experience with a house builder having worked on and run your own projects successfully.

Salary in the region of £70,000 - £75,000 (dependent on experience) plus comprehensive package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings) for Valuations, Variations & Final Accounts
  • Monthly stock taking for external valuations.
  • Prepare and agree daywork sheets
  • Measurement and valuation of subcontractors work for payment and Final Account purpose
  • Ensure that payments to sub-contractors are made on time and in accordance with the subcontract agreement
  • Preparation of external valuations
  • Preparation of financial reports by taking relevant site measurements and/or measuring from drawings
  • Monthly stock taking for internal valuations
  • Preparation of pre-cost estimates, analysis of Head Office cost prints and divergences between pre-cost estimates and Head Office cost prints.
  • Preparing material reconciliations.
  • Preparing and submitting material delivery sheets

Education & Qualifications:

  • HND or Quantity Surveying degree
  • Experience working for a contractor or house builder
  • Driving License
