Job description

I am working with one of the East Midlands largest privately owned contractors who are keen to appoint an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor based out of their award-winning offices in Peterborough. You will be working across a wide range of sectors , with GDV in excess of £20m. They are looking for someone who has previous contractor experience, ideally someone who has worked on a wide range of sectors.

 

This opportunity will allow you to help manage a range of fantastic projects whilst leading and undertaking a substantial wealth of responsibilities and reporting directly to the company directors. You will be managing site development and the attainment of targets by conducting commercial cost appraisals and viability/feasibility analysis, managing sub-contractors, materials and goods, preparing and monitoring site costs and budgets and ensuring site set-up health and safety.

 

In return, you will be offered a fantastic basic of up to £70,000 for the right candidate plus comprehensive package such as bonus, car allowance, healthcare and pension. The company is renound for supporting its staff therefore enjoying low staff turnover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of tender allowances
  • The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings), for valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting and agreement of interim valuations in accordance with those dates.
  • Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions  
  • Preparation of cost to complete
  • Financial Reporting
  • Cash management and maximisation
  • Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
  • Provision of standard reports
  • Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines

Experience and Qualifications:

  • You will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a main contractor
  • You will have sound experience of working within the same, or similar role previous. 
  • You will be degree qualified and ideally member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).
