Senior Quantity Surveyor


£65,000 - £70,000


Due to my clients continued success, they are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor into their existing commercial team following a period of growth within the business after winning a number of tenders on luxury developments close to their office (Oxford).

This role will be well suited to an individual whom is confident on working off their accord, as well as an excellent team member.

You will be reporting to the Commercial Manager and will aim to ensure strong cost control on existing schemes. You will also be responsible for interim valuations and sub-contractor and supplier accounts.

You will also be responsible for other members of the commercial team including Surveyors’ and Assistant Surveyors’.


  • A history of relevant experience in high quality, bespoke projects.

  • A good knowledge of, and experience with, all methods of construction procurement.

  • Proven ability of cost monitoring and preparation of valuations, variations, final accounts, sub-contract re-measurement, main contract final accounts and preparation of documents to support all variety of contractual situations.

  • Proven ability in monitoring of contract programmes, identifying issues, raising early warnings and managing variations/quotations.

  • Experience on working on a variety of projects with values ranging from £100,000 to £10,000,000 plus.

  • Have an understanding and working knowledge of JCT contracts and sub-contracts.

  • Experience with or knowledge of COINS software would be desirable however, not essential.

  • HNC/ HND, BSc degree, or other equivalent, in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or Construction Management.

  • Professional, personable, good communication skills and confident to liaise with other professionals.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Excellent time management and the ability to meet tough deadlines.

  • Experience of working to the highest standards of quality and be able to work as part of a team.
