Job description

I am currently working with a luxury residential house builder in Surrey that prides themselves on being a market leader in the counties super prime residential market. Its traditional ethos and expert craftsmanship has built a reputation for high specification house building in the region.

This outstanding upmarket house builder is looking to strengthen its team with the addition of a proven Senior QS that is looking to be part of a growing construction team that specialises in creating bespoke new homes in line with unique, one off designs. To be considered for this role it would be advantageous if you have an extensive background in either high end or luxury residential developments.

In return, an attractive package of £ 60,000 - £65,000 is on offer and the opportunity to deliver stand out projects for high net worth clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To supervise, manage and advise on the Financial and Contractual Aspects of multiple construction project across the division.
  • Attends design team meetings and development meetings when appropriate and also main contract pre-start and subcontract package review meetings.
  • Liaises with Development Surveyors to establish requirements for pre-contract expenditure and strategic procurement.
  • Receive initial tender information and prepare and update procurement programmes.
  • Agrees selection of suitable Subcontractors for works packages.
  • Approves the competency of Subcontractors for inclusion on the Subcontractor’s Approved List.

Desirable criteria:

  • Passionate about construction and house building.
  • Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of methods of measurement, standard forms of contract and reporting procedures, preparation of contractual claims.
  • Qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
