Job description

I am working with one of the leading residential house builders who have plans to deliver over 3000 homes by the end of 2019. Due to a number of projects being granted planning with a number of others in the tender stage, they are now looking for a Technical Coordinator to join the team and work closely with the Technical Manager on a number of residential and mixed use developments across Buckinghamshire


As Technical Coordinator, your main aim is to manage and oversee the external design teams in the technical coordinator and design functions on a variety of residential and mixed use developments from the initial land acquisition through to completion and customer occupation making sure you liaise closely with the project delivery team. 


With assistance from the Technical Manager, you will be managing members of the project team, providing advice and guidance as and when required and be the main lead in making sure all relevant actions detailed in the technical procedures are adhered to. You will assist the Technical Manager in the development programme and brief, manage and drive external consultants in preparations and approval of construction information. Although the role will be office based, you will need to attend sites as and when required to attend meetings about site progress and to carry out site inspections. 


You will ideally come from another house builder, developer or contractor and must have previous experience in delivering residential projects with a proven track record of managing more than one site at a time. Good knowledge of planning, technical, architectural and engineering issues with current UK regulations and legislation issues will also be required. You will be an individual who is calm under pressure with strong communication skills and a good mentality when it comes to working in a team.

Key requirements:

  • Ideally degree qualified (Architecture, Engineering etc) however relevant construction experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience working for a house builder, developer or contractor with a proven track record in delivering residential and mixed use projects.
  • The ability to manage numerous developments at any one time.
  • Good knowledge of current building regulations and legislation issues.
  • Good knowledge of the development process including planning, technical, architectural and engineering aspects.
  • Calm under pressure with good communication skills and the ability to have input in to site progress meetings.
  • The ability to communicate well with other internal teams and external consultants.
  • A full UK driving license as travel to and from sites will be required.
