Job description

My client is an entrepreneurial, forward thinking developer with a strong pipeline of work behind them and cash rich in funds. Due to continued expansion of the business, they are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Manager to oversee a landmark high rise scheme for the business.


The project itself is due to go to site later this year and it’s going through the final phases of planning right now. As Senior Technical Manager you will be involved in taking this project from post planning, through design, on to site and delivering the project through to completion which is scheduled for 2021.


As this is a landmark and flagship scheme for the business, you will need to be an experienced Technical Manager with a proven track record of overseeing large, complex, residential or mixed use schemes across London. You will ideally have over 15 years’ experience in the industry and MUST have experience of overseeing high rise RC frame projects over 15 storeys or more. This particular project will be 21 storeys high so this is why the strong requirement.


As Senior Technical Manager, you will be based on site when the project starts later this year in the West London area but will be required to visit the Head Office on occasions for board meetings. You will oversee more junior members of the team, offering direction and overseeing the work they’re doing is correct.


Reporting to the Technical Director on a weekly basis as well as the Managing Director on occasions, you will need to be an individual who can bring something new to the table. You must be an individual who isn’t afraid to speak up and fight your own corner when it comes to new ideas and other ways of working as constructive criticism is something which is welcomed in the team on an ‘open forum’ basis.

Key Requirements:


  • Degree qualified in Architecture, Civil Engineering or other relevant related field.
  • At least 15 years’ experience working on residential or mixed use (incl. residential) schemes across the capital.
  • Strong RC Frame experience working on projects over 15 storeys in height in London as a minimum.
  • A proven Senior Technical Manager, capable of overseeing large multi-million pound projects as well as overseeing more junior members of staff.
  • Not afraid to speak up and ‘fight your own corner’ when it comes to open forums with other members of the team.
  • Calm under pressure and a good problem solver who is able to make decision quickly and confidently.
