Senior Town Planner / Associate Planner  - Surrey - £50,000 - £65,000 plus package

 

Our Planning Teams manage the spectrum of areas of the planning system on behalf of the Company. In an ever-changing planning environment, our teams have experience in influencing the formation of planning policy, land promotion, handling the development management process and implementing community engagement strategies.

Depending on the position within the team, you may be working on the identification of future land acquisition opportunities, devising planning strategies, managing consultant development teams, drafting the statements required for the submission of planning applications and delivering immediate or long-term planning projects on a variety of scales. As part of this process, you will be involved in partnership working and liaison with a variety of planning authorities, local stakeholders and residents.

 

Summary of the role

Sitting within the Land Department, you will assist in the day-to-day progression of major planning applications, reporting into the Planning Director. A key fact of the role will be the management of external Consultants and other members of our Planning Team to deliver planning permissions on time and within budget.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee & manage the team (internal and external) in devising and submitting planning application.
  • Manage all facets of the day-to-day promotion of all our current planning applications
  • Provide advice to the Land and Technical teams on housing sites
  • Manage all external consultants involved in our planning applications
  • Liaison with Council Planning offices, statutory consultees and undertaking community engagement
  • Lead the production and refinement of detailed planning layouts
  • Promote and act in accordance with Group values, systems, policies and procedures
Excellent written communication, project management and organisational skills are required.
