That’s the kind of scheme this family-owned developer builds. Sites are small, density is low and almost every house is designed for its plot rather than pulled from a catalogue. The business is growing steadily and wants a Technical Coordinator who notices the details and enjoys them.
The Role
This isn’t volume work. You’ll handle a few schemes at a time, and each will take real design coordination. You’ll work closely with the Technical Director and a small circle of trusted architects and engineers.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinating bespoke house designs from planning drawings through to working drawings and construction issue
- Managing material samples, sample panels and planning condition approvals for brick, stone, roofing and joinery
- Navigating conservation areas, listed building settings and sensitive planning officers with patience and tact
- Reviewing structural and drainage design, including soakaways and SuDS features
- Handling warranty and building control submissions
- Supporting site managers with details and queries, especially where craft trades are involved
- Keeping design information tight so quality never slips on site
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a Technical Coordinator in housebuilding, ideally with bespoke or premium product
- A good eye for architectural detail and construction quality
- Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and the planning process
- Clear, confident communication with consultants, planners and site teams
- A patient approach, because the right answer matters more than the fast one
