Busy is the word. This regional division of one of the country’s largest housebuilders has a dozen or so live outlets across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and north Northamptonshire. More land is coming through planning than at any point in the last five years.
The technical team is growing to keep up, and they want a Technical Coordinator who likes a bit of pace. The processes are well built, the house type library is mature and the training is excellent. That frees you to focus on doing the job well rather than inventing how it’s done.
The Role
You’ll look after a portfolio of sites from reserved matters through to build. You’ll work closely with the Senior Technical Coordinator and Technical Manager, and you’ll have a clearly mapped route to promotion if you want it.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing and coordinating technical information for planning submissions and reserved matters applications
- Tracking and discharging planning conditions, keeping a clean, up-to-date conditions schedule
- Coordinating standard house types onto site layouts, including plot-specific details and external works
- Reviewing foundation designs against site investigation data and NHBC Chapter 4.2 where trees are nearby
- Managing NHBC registrations and technical queries, plus Part L and SAP compliance tracking
- Feeding in to biodiversity net gain and drainage strategy discussions with consultants
- Issuing construction drawings to site and resolving site queries quickly and sensibly
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a Technical Coordinator, or as an Assistant ready for the next step, in housebuilding
- A working knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC Standards and planning conditions
- Good organisation: you can juggle several sites without dropping anything
- Confidence talking to site managers, consultants and local authority officers
- A driving licence, as you’ll visit sites across the region
