Job description

Leading residential house builder in Essex is looking for a Technical Coordinator to join their team in a new position due to expansion to work on a variety of low rise traditional housing projects across the county. Reporting in to the Technical Manager, you will manage all technical aspects for given projects fitting in to an already senior team of individuals. You will be working on a variety of multi unit residential developments across Essex at different stages throughout the development cycle from land acquisition through to completion and occupancy.

You will be working closely with the internal teams of the business including the land, commercial, construction and sales teams as well as a number of external consultants like Architects and Engineers, Health and Safety Advisors, suppliers, solicitors, housing associations and contractors. You will be assisting the Technical Manager on all aspects of the developments and will be running through design and management of externally appointed consultants through to the completion of builds. This role is varied and diverse and will keep you constantly challenged so you will need to have prior experience working for another house builder, developer or contractor. You will need to have proven skills of managing and overseeing your own sites (normally at least 2 projects at any one time) at various stages within the development cycle. You have to be able to juggle numerous tasks at any one time and be calm and collected under pressure.

In return you will be offered ongoing training, support and work in a great office environment where people enjoy working. The turnover of staff is relatively low and you will find the business offers many activities both inside and outside work giving you a great social aspect to the job as well.

Key requirements:

  • Ideally degree qualified (Architecture, Engineering etc) although other relevant qualifications or experience will be considered.
  • Previous experience working for a house builder, developer or contractor is desired.
  • A proven record of overseeing and managing your own multi unit residential developments is required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work on your own as well as part of a wider team.
  • Able to work with internal teams of the business such as land, commercial and construction teams as well as being able to oversee external consultants.
  • Calm and collected under pressure and the ambition and drive to succeed.
  • A full UK drivers license as travel is required to sites as and when required.
