£50k – £65k + package

are you the engineering manager looking to join one of the most exciting developers in the midlands? this forward-thinking company is looking to add to its established commercial team with the addition of a engineering manager within its midlands office in warwickshire.

renowned for producing unique, detailed and contemporary new build residential developments from one to five bed houses. the region is building circa 500 units per annum.

this position would suit an experienced engineering professional who is looking for the next step in their career, gaining more managerial responsibilities and seniority.

as a engineering manager, you will report to the technical director and work closely with the senior technical manager. you will be responsible for project managing new developments from acquisition to final adoption.


  • prepare pre-purchase appraisals of development opportunities advising on development constraints
  • maintain a continuous process of evaluation of consultant’s performance and design capabilities to ensure that service delivery standards and scheme proposals adhere to best practice in delivering value engineering
  • assist in managing the process of timely discharge of building regulations and planning conditions
  • ensure adoption agreements are secured in a timely manner
  • value engineer of the consultants designs to ensure fitness for purpose and best value
  • establish good working relationships with site staff and department heads to ensure schemes are constructed as intended and to encourage feedback for inclusion in future schemes to avoid wastage and improve the engineered solutions
  • implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company
  • develop good working relationships with local authorities and ensure knowledge of the peculiarities of the local authorities, and knowledge of the many techniques applicable to the housing industry to ensure easy approvals and fast, marketable, economic house building
  • transfer of substation sites and pumping station sites as appropriate
  • arranging postal numbers/street names for developments
  • assisting with setting up management companies for apartments and private roads
  • arranging surfacing contractors and implementation of remedial works, leading to road/sewers being placed on maintenance


  • a proven track record in residential development and possessing the ability to confidently manage all areas where consultant engineers have an input into the development process
  • you must be capable of project managing new developments from acquisition to final adoption
  • degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field of study (essential)
  • 5+ years’ of management experience with a housebuilder/developer
  • excellent leader with ability to motivate and develop team
  • understanding of design, regulation and engineering processes
  • individual who is focused on results
  • ability to prioritise tasks


  • £55,000 – £65,000 basic (depending on experience) + package
