2024 was meant to be the year the government made big moves to deliver on its promise of 1.5 million homes by 2029. Instead, planning approvals hit their lowest point since 2006 and planning reform moved at a snail’s pace. Not to mention that affordable housing initiatives, especially for first-time buyers, have until this point been noticeably left out of the conversation.
Our newly released what’s next for housebuilding 2025? report once again sees us sticking our heads above the parapet as we provide a candid synopsis of the main news stories circling our industry. This year, we are also pleased to include candid insights once again from esteemed property professionals, including Chris Loughead, Operations Director, Fernham Homes, Sophie Schofield, Sales Director, Wain Homes, Doug Acton, Sales and Marketing Director, Folkestone Harbour and David Greengrass, Head of Sales – South, St. Modwen Homes, hearing what they have to say about the current state of the market.
