Planning Manager
Oxfordshire
£65,000 – £80,000
I’m working with a well-funded, family-owned SME housebuilder on a Planning Manager hire. They are genuinely acquisitive, active in both the immediate and strategic land markets, and the pipeline has grown to the point where planning needs someone running it full time
This is the whole job, not a slice of it. Land appraisal through to consent and discharge of conditions, with a clear line to the decision makers.
The role:
• Own the planning process across the portfolio, from pre-application to discharge of conditions
• Support the land team with appraisals, risk and site specific advice during acquisition
• Appoint and manage consultant teams to programme and budget
• Build relationships with officers, councillors and local communities
• Negotiate Section 106 agreements and represent the business at committee and appeal
You:
• A planner with solid experience from a housebuilder, developer, land promoter or consultancy
• A track record of securing residential consents
• Confident running consultants and negotiating with local authorities
• Commercially minded, with a good grasp of appraisal and viability
• MRTPI, or well on the way
The package:
• £65,000 to £80,000 depending on experience
• Car allowance, bonus and pension
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, hybrid and flexible working
• Real scope to shape how planning is run as the business grows
The autonomy of an SME with the funding to back it up. Not many places offer both.
