An SME housebuilder with rich history of building beautiful homes acorss Yorkshire is looking for a A Technical Coordinator to join the team as they bring forward two new developments across the county, both with the kind of local sensitivity that makes the job interesting rather than easy.
The Role
You will take live sites from the tail end of the design process through to build-ready status, working closely with the architects, structural engineers, and the build team to make sure what gets built on site matches what was promised in the planning application. This is a genuinely hands-on role in a business where you will know every plot number and every reason behind every design decision, because you were in the room when most of them were made.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinating technical information from planning submission through to start on site, including discharge of planning conditions
- Managing the flow of drawings and specifications between architects, structural engineers, and statutory consultees
- Preparing and checking working drawings, house type packs, and site-specific detailing ahead of build
- Liaising directly with NHBC and Building Control to secure approvals and resolve queries as they arise
- Supporting the commercial team with technical input for procurement and package tendering
- Attending design team meetings and site visits, acting as the technical point of contact for the build team on the ground
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience in a technical coordination role within UK residential development
- Working knowledge of NHBC standards, Building Regulations, and the planning conditions discharge process
- Comfortable reading and marking up architectural and engineering drawings
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to challenge information that does not add up
- HNC, HND, or degree in a construction-related discipline is preferred, though relevant experience is valued just as highly
